Cupcakes for Cancer

Union Prep is honoured to have held their first "Cupcakes for Cancer - Party of HOPE".

The learners all wore yellow for Childhood Cancer Awareness and bought delicious bright yellow cupcakes. The cupcakes were all donated, made with love by a group of moms, and R6860 was raised for the Cupcakes of HOPE non-profit organisation.

Union High School matriculant and cancer survivor, JP Kruger, addressed the learners at assembly and spoke of his childhood experiences with cancer. The school also distributed information regarding Early Cancer Warning Signs.

This was a touching and well-supported initiative, which will be continued in the years to come.

A to 10 Dinner

On Thursday evening, the Grade 4 class of Union Prep, once again, honoured those matric learners who spent their whole career at Union Schools.

Grade 4 learners welcomed the matrics and their parents and escourted them into the Union Preparatory Dome, where the main event was certainly the different versions of the dozi-do dance.

As always, the A to 10 Dinner was filled with fun, lots of laughs and to end the evening, a beautifully preparered dinner in the Tony Burrell Union.
